Maureen had a dream to open her own dance school since the age of 10. She would spend countless hours on her back patio bossing her little sister around and teaching her choreography to “Les Miserables “. By the age of 12 she was doing competition choreography for young performers and got bit by the teaching bug. After graduation from highschool Maureen went on to pursue a Criminology Degree but knew in her heart that she would own her own dance school someday. That dream was realized in September 2006 when she opened the doors of Xtreme Talent Dance Company. Maureen has been involved in over 50 productions in the Fraser Valley with Abbotsford Children’s Theatre, Gallery 7 & UFV’s Theatre Program as well as done choreography for her own productions at Xtreme Talent and for local highschool musical theatre. her students have gone on to represent Canada at the Dance World Cup in 2008 and 2015 and the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany.
Maureen lives with her Mother, husband Justin and her daughter Elle-Manhattan. The entire family supports Maureen in her endeavours to keep Xtreme Talent a fun safe and inspiring place for kids and youth to come ‘hang out’. Xtreme Talent was opened with the idea that all kids should be able to express themselves creatively through the arts and performance. No matter where life takes you Xtreme Talent will always be here for you.
