When Xtreme Talent first opened in 2006 Maureen had a vision of a studio where students would feel comfortable and motivated to express themselves through dance and the arts. Over the years, a lot has changed at Xtreme Talent but this original vision has held on and XT is still a place where students from all walks of life, all talents and abilities, and all shapes and sizes can come and share a common interest: their love of dance. Dance is a sport, and like most other sports competition is at the root of what we do, however, we have always believed that the relationships and bonds that are formed between students far outweigh any trophies or medals. It is this continued emphasis on teamwork and support that has allowed XT to develop into the family we are today, and we simply wouldn’t be where we are today without all the special students and families that we have had the honor and privilege to teach over the last 12 years.
This is why we have created The Faces Of Xtreme Talent Award, that recognizes a few students each year who demonstrate exceptional attitude, teamwork, and ability. These students manage to stand out amongst the many incredibly talented kids at XT, by not only being great performers but by being inclusive, enthusiastic and dedicated to their craft. They are an inspiration to their peers and a pleasure to teach, and they contribute more than their share in making Xtreme Talent Abbotsford’s Favorite Dance School.
This award will be handed out annually at our Xtreme Talent Awards Banquet, following the competitive season. So, without further ado, here are our Faces Of Xtreme Talent for the 2016/17 season ….
Dakota has been with Xtreme for many years now, and she is not only an extremely talented performer, she is also a fantastic role model to the younger students. She always has a positive attitude, which makes her a pleasure to teach, and someone her peers love to be around. Keep up the hard work and dedication Dakota, and keep on inspiring those around you!
Julia has only been with Xtreme Talent for a couple seasons now, but she has sure made an impact in that short time. Her love of dance was apparent the first time we met Julia, and it continues to shine through as she works diligently week in and week out. She is a true ambassador for XT and we are absolutely thrilled to be able to present Julia with this award!
Genesis has danced with Xtreme basically since she could walk, and before our eyes, she is growing into a beautiful soul and dancer. She has many friends in XT and she sets an excellent example for the students younger than she is. Thank you, Genesis, for all you do and keep up the hard work and dedication!
